About Battery Replacement Service

Some retro game cartridges—including Famicom, Super Famicom, Game Boy, and Nintendo 64 cartridges—contain an internal backup battery for saving data.

As these batteries have been in use for many years since the games' release, we cannot guarantee their remaining charge or the retention of save data. Saving may not work, or data may be lost.

To help you enjoy your games with peace of mind, we offer an optional battery replacement service (¥500 per battery).

When purchasing a cartridge with an internal battery, please review and consider the above information.

Service Details

We replace the internal save backup battery in your ordered cartridge with a new battery after testing its voltage before shipping. We never ship stock that was replaced in advance or batteries that were replaced in the past without performing a fresh replacement.

As of September 2026, our sister site Otakaraou.com has completed over 38,000 replacements in 20 years, and many customers have used our service.

• If you are using a compatible (clone) console, there have been cases where saving still does not work or data is easily lost even after the battery replacement. Please order at your own discretion.
